On the one-year anniversary of Drew’s last day with us, we held a memorial service at his gravesite. We were joined by some of Drew’s good friends and some of our friends. After some readings, prayers, and open comments, we played some of Drew’s music.
As the service finished, there was a flurry of white fluffy things floating down from the sky. We did not see any trees that they could be falling from, so we looked up into the sky and we saw a beautiful circular rainbow around the sun.
We believe it was a sign from God that Drew’s spirit is with us and waiting for us when we join him in life everlasting.
Drew, we will always keep you in our hearts. We will cherish the memories of our times together and how you made us laugh. We look forward to the day when we will see you again
Love you, buddy!
Some words in memory of Drew
Doing the simplest of things was far from normal when we were together, Drew. Whether it was jumping on each other in the playground at Ambrose, rushing home to play in the vines in the Glenn in middle school, or biking around Winchester together during the ever-so-freeing high-school summers. ~ Alec
Dear Faith and Jim, Anna and Jake,
We are lucky to have known Drew, and your family for so many years. We will always remember Drew as a strong, funny and sweet presence with his siblings, whether running around the yard when we would meet at the “tree” after school at Ambrose, or greeting us in such a welcoming and kind way when we would gather at your house. Always with that wonderful smile.

I loved knowing that every year I would be with my family for a week at Ocean City, NJ. Drew was always so happy and always talked to me and made me feel like a special grandmother. My memories of Drew will always be happy ones.
- Gram
Being asked to be Drew's Godmother was heartwarming & I made sure that I tried to take many pictures of him, always capturing his magnifying smile, especially during our many family vacations in Ocean City, NJ.
- Aunt Cathy
Some of the fondest of memories of our family were made there at Ocean City.
Precious time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
- Cathy
Some of my very best memories were of our entire family vacations at Ocean City. It is really amazing how fast our times at Ocean City went by. I remember each vacation we had together like they were all yesterday.
- Uncle John
To our beautiful angel Drew! God blessed us richly with your gorgeous smile and caring heart! ❤️ We were blessed by your huge heart and gentle, caring ways! Your infectious smile and gentle heart could never be forgotten!
- Uncle Jeff, Aunt Holly, Chase, Jordan, and Joshua
Drew
This is one of my all-time favorite pictures! It was Sean's birthday and right before we moved to Florida. I never told you but I was always so grateful that you were part of Sean's life. You were the brother he never had! And we both adored you!
- Auntie Jill oxox
I remember this night, it's one of my fondest memories with Drew, Anna, and Jake. We spent the night outside making s'mores and goofing around with no care in the world. We all ended up taking a bunch of silly pictures, but this one is my favorite.
- Sean O'Connor
As a kid I always enjoyed strolling drew around, playing on the beach, and sharing so many memories and smiles at ocean city each year. As Drew aged I grew to be inspired by his ways he developed amazing apps to help people, make video games, fix computers, and code with no problem.
- Jodie
So many great memories of Ocean City with Drew and the fam. Those were some good times.
- Jamie
As the oldest of the youngest next generation of Pelusi's, Drew often was the center of all the cousin attention -- especially at Ocean City. We would fight over who could watch him, push his stroller, or take him down to the water. We would fight over his attention and bribe him with quarters....of which I remember him accidentally swallowing one or two one year!
Drew Bear, I'll never forget how excited your older cousins were to have a new baby cousin in the family. We fought over who got to push Baby Drew's stroller on the O.C. Boardwalk.
- Julianne
Drew, whenever we spent time with you, you amazed me with your unique perspective of whatever we were discussing. You always presented an angle not many of us would have considered.
- Aunt M.J.
I always enjoyed seeing all of the cousins playing games and laughing uncontrollably, even as you all got older. Forever kids at heart and I will always remember the joy of all of you together.
- Uncle Jay
Though the distance was great between your house and mine, we always bonded when we came together, like running the Ocean City, New Jersey Boardwalk.
- Jono
Drew,
We all miss you a ton. My kids all talk about you to this day and some were luckier than others to have met you like little John. He talks about you often and has slept with your photo I brought back from Boston.
- John, Lia, John Anthony, Geno, Gianna and Cooper
Drew was a very kind, gentle yet goofy person with an infectious smile. I was lucky enough to have gone to school with Drew K-12th grade and in all those years Drew never failed to always make me laugh and feel included. Drew and I were on the same cross country team in high school, he was much faster than I was but always so encouraging and a very supportive teammate.
- Julia Lawler
I will miss the times we spent just hanging out, when he'd try to make his pizza too big and the dough would tear and he'd try to salvage it just to have to start over. Or just walking around and playing pokemon go when it was super popular that one summer.
- Steph Ananth
Drew was one of the funniest guys I knew and a good friend of mine back in high school. I remember his wide, infectious smile whenever he would laugh about something, and a lot of the funny things he would do. We were both on the cross country team, and whenever Coach would arrive at practice, Drew would shout really loudly from across the field, "COACH!" to greet him.
- Liam O'Toole
I know this time of year together has lost a special piece of the puzzle, but stay wholesome with the wonderful energy and joy Drew brought us all.
- Savion Jackson
Drew made me motivated to continue with my clothing brand. He made me feel a real sense of accomplishment. At the time when this photo was taken, I was truthfully in a rough place and wasn't feeling great about where I was in life.
- Alec
I still think of Drew often and struggle with the thought of his passing, but it doesn't surpass the amazing memories we all had with him.
- Vivian Tran and Cedric Wille
To the Pelusi Family - I am sending you so much love and support this holiday season. Drew was the best! I will truly think about him for the rest of my life. His impact is so heavy, he touched so many people's hearts and I am so thankful to have so many funny memories with him. - Nicole Somerstein
You guys already know that Drew was never afraid to push limits and skiing was no exception. When your family let us stay at the ski house last year, I really got to see him in action. I remember watching drew go down the steeper routes on the mountain. He would always try to go as fast as possible. I wondered how it didn’t faze him. - Matt Adolph
Always going to miss the random fun ideas you had, like this Dirty Bubble Halloween costume we helped you put together, or those times we watched you eat an entire tub of frosting or oreos in one sitting! :D
-XT
Dear Jim, Faith, Anna and Jake,
Each of you have always been in our daily and nightly prayers, and that has not changed since Drew passed.
While Drew is no longer physically with us, we have the very next best thing, and we are most thankful for that. That is, that Drew, is always in our heart, mind, soul and in our memories, which are there forever.
- Uncle John and Aunt Cathy
You have all been on my mind and in my heart since beloved Drew went to Heaven in June. When someone passes whom we love, I think a question that may pass through our minds is "I wonder what they are doing in Heaven?", and I have thought of this a lot when thinking about Drew. Informed from my time at LCA with Drew on the Cross Country team, I think of Drew running in Heaven around endless fields and roads and the most beautiful views, including Bartlett Ave where our runs often commenced.
- Delaney Wells
Drew was a great friend. He always found ways to make everyone in the room laugh and feel at ease. I'll never forget when he made our entire high school class erupt into laughter after saying science has gone too far with the invention of the GPS.
- James Palmer
Drew had the ability to light up any room. I was lucky enough to witness that everyday in the hallways and classrooms of LCA. His sense of humor and kindness to others was contagious and admirable.
